Position Overview
This person will be responsible for providing a senior level of consultation and delivery for the Multimedia Technical Services that are aligned to the execution of events inside client auditoriums and event spaces. Based in the Multimedia department they will be responsible for coordinating the technology delivery, event workforce planning and ultimately for the successful execution of the live event. They will work in true partnership with the Business units, Marketing and Event Production teams to ensure the overall event goals and objectives are delivered to the most exacting standard and are repeatable, sustainable and to match or exceed the service the industry would expect from an externally produced event.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- This person will know everything about our spaces technically and what they are capable of.
- Work directly with Corporate Services, Stakeholders, Events Marketing and Event Producers to develop an overall technical production approach for each event.
- Initial consulting at the beginning of every project to help identify what spaces are most appropriate for the event requirements.
- Be present for venue/space walkthroughs with the planning team and follow SOP to produce working documents that are maintained and distributed throughout project lifecycle.
- Produce accurate and detailed operations briefing documents. If additional equipment or services are needed the co-ordination of the technology will be managed and documented.
- Be the day-to-day contact for the stakeholders and provide proactive communications that will include scheduling and budget updates.
- Co-ordinate with internal departments to produce rehearsal and production schedules and all other required documentation. If the event has a run of show the candidate will be very familiar with the document and have mapped resources against requirements.
- Work closely with Video Production, Streaming, Engineering and Operations to ensure Technical co-ordination is completed for every project.
- Procure external technical/staffing services using firm approved sourcing methods (as required).
- Manage setup, technical checks, testing, cue-to-cue rehearsals and presenters’ rehearsals with the operators, presenters and moderators to ensure the event technology and the client requirements are in alignment.
- On the event days the technical producer will be required to be on comms with the operations team and the producer/planner to ensure the technical operation of the event meets the required standard. For example the technical producer would make the final call on the framing of camera shots, the timing of switching and how content transitions are executed, that the room audio meets the required volume and quality.
- Where cues have been requested, the TD will have planned these in advance and will call for them during the event.
- The Technical Producer will be the first line in communications for any technical issues that may arise during the event so the technicians are not distracted. They will be accountable to the Stakeholders and make the final decision on resolutions and co-ordinate any backup plans.
- Use experience and flexibility to anticipate and prepare for real-time changes at an event.
- Lead and supervise the operations team throughout the entire event delivery phase ensuring work meets expectation and is on schedule.
- Keep BU, Marketing and Producers informed of any issues, delays and solutions to the inevitable production changes that occur at live events.
- Provide timely reporting for department initiatives.
- Post Event – they will debrief with the team, compile notes and reports. Identify improvements and possible training options if required.
Skills Required
- A professional qualification in a relevant subject or at least 5 years’ experience in the live events production industry.
- Detailed experience of Corporate AV installation environments.
- Experience of the following platforms: Global Meet, Zoom, Cisco, Crestron, Evertz, Yamaha, Shure, Soundcraft, Barco, LED Screens etc.
- Proven track record of delivering live events to a very high standard.
- Experience discussing technical solutions with non-technical clients.
- Strong logistical and resource planning with an excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent knowledge of the latest technology and production techniques
- Strong interpersonal, team leadership and customer relations skills
- Resourceful, flexible, and able to work in a pressurized environment with constantly changing priorities.
- Excellent time management skills
- Be able to work on own initiative, be part of a team and accept accountability.
- Must have excellent IT Skills, written and verbal communication and problem-solving ability.
- Must be prepared to travel to other NYC client locations as required.
- Work long hours on setup and event days to be there from start to finish with the rest of the event team.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
