Role Responsibilities:
Participate as an active member of the Client project team & represent the M&E Engineering team in North America, both internally and externally. Help develop & deliver: Oversee whitespace mechanical and electrical design from concept to construction level detail & be fully conversant with the design and its subsequent implementation & changes. Client hires 3rd party engineering firms for a full design package. This resource will be responsible for overseeing the firms activity.
Work with the NA operations team to ensure integration of Client operational standards with the engineering design.
Creation of, and assist with, RFP & RFI documentation relating to the MS White Space products and services as it relates to the M&E infrastructure.
Assist with overall project programming. Ensure M&E infrastructure products and installation are following local & national AHJ requirements, as well as specific MS and manufacturer installation standards
Close liaison with Client key strategic M&E infrastructure manufacturers.
Build a relationship with the Contractor(s), including installation staff (foreman and engineers) and become involved with the contractors programme of works for the days and weeks ahead & provide guidance on installation, good practice and the like.
Ensure projects aims are delivered on time and to budget
Be familiar with commissioning processes for mechanical and electrical infrastructure including the requirements of level 1 through 4 commissioning, level 5 integrated system test, and room verification tests.
Support the commissioning vendor hired by Client to perform all commissioning of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure supporting the white space.
Conduct regular construction site walks and / or attend site meetings as required in order to quickly resolve installation issues.
Examples of site inspection activities include installation, quality, and progress checks for electrical switchgear, UPS systems, power distribution, and HVAC.
Review commissioning and testing implementation plans and method of procedures (MOPs) for the tie-in and start up of critical M&E equipment.
Be available to make informed decisions relating to the installation, including ensuring key stake holders are informed and agreement sought as appropriate.
Report urgent action items / concerns as required to local project management and operations.
Report back on a daily / weekly basis to Global Head of Engineering on progress, issues, decision points taken as required.
Review and approval of as built information, commissioning, and testing final reports.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with EDC North America DC Operations Team and other critical facility stakeholders, to ensure a successful hand over from project to operations team.
Provide technical support for all M&E Incident and Root Cause investigations .Due to the nature of this role and the business needs, some weekend works may be required during the course of the year. Skills Required:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or be able to show equivalent level of education in a relevant engineering discipline. Industry experience such as working up through the Electrical trades and/or operations will also be considered.
Minimum of 5 years experience with the design and construction industry, with a minimum of 3 years within the financial or data center vertical markets. Demonstrate clear understanding of data center M&E infrastructure with knowledge of relevant local, national and international standards.
Basic understanding of data center infrastructure resiliency and design. Recognized technical training and skills understanding all aspects of data center mechanical and electrical infrastructure. Experience in all aspects MEP Engineering project management.
Excellent performance record in managing internal clients (either internal or external).?Strong management and leadership skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications.
Project commercial and financial acumen. Able to articulate clearly and credibly with internal clients, data center operations managers and all staff. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Visio, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Skills Desired: Data Center Operations Experience background is a plus.
Sustainability / energy efficiency project experience and ESG Compliance is a plus
.Financial Services company background is a plus. AutoCAD application experience and knowledge a plus.
Experience with BMS and DCIM software platforms a plus
Rate range - $70-$74
